We reserve the right to amend these terms. A current copy can always be found on our website.
Please be aware that mixed baskets cannot comprise more than 50 percent of shirts, trousers or dresses.
Mixed baskets do not include bed linen which will be charged separately.
Unwashed or damaged clothes will not be ironed unless agreed beforehand.
There is a £5.00 surcharge for a 24 hour service.
We shall provide a cleaner to the client subject to these terms and conditions.
Right to Cancel (Cooling off)
Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. A cancellation form to be completed by the client, signed and returned to us within 14 days of the client originally signing the contract, will be included with our agency agreement.
The client will sign an agency agreement setting out their requirements and agreeing to the payment of agency fees. We agree to provide the client with suitable cleaners until the agreement ends. See: Termination.
The client will set up a standing order mandate with their bank to authorise monthly payments to Alston Knight each month in advance. Payments shall continue until the agency agreement ends. See: Termination.
We provide insurance cover for accidental damage to items worth over £100. The client will be suitably insured against their liabilities to the cleaner. The client will not be covered by our insurance policy if the cleaner was not introduced to them by us, or if any of the terms of this agreement are broken. Alston Knight shall not be liable for any consequential or indirect losses incurred by client(s) as a result of any failure of a cleaner to comply with his or her contractual obligations for whatever reason.
We shall not be liable for collusion or theft of property or possessions. Neither party shall be liable for any failure in the performance of any of its obligations under this agreement caused by factors outside its control. English law shall cover this agreement and the parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in all matters regarding it.
a. The cleaner is introduced to the client as a self-employed cleaner and the client shall retain the cleaner only under an agreement for their services. The client shall agree with the cleaner directly the terms of such an agreement. b. The client shall agree with the cleaner what services are to be performed by the cleaner. c. The client shall pay the cleaner’s charges to the cleaner.
We may terminate the agency agreement by giving notice to the client in writing. The client may terminate the agency agreement only by giving one months’ notice to Alston Knight in writing. For a period of 12 months following termination of the client / agency agreement the client shall not engage directly or indirectly as an employee, agent or otherwise any cleaner who has been introduced by the agency to the client. If the client so engages a cleaner, then damages of up to 12 months of the agency fee will be claimed. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the standing order mandate paying the agency is cancelled through the bank of the clients upon ending the agreement with the agency. Payments received after the months’ notice period will incur an administration fee of £10.
If any provision of these terms and conditions shall be found to be void, invalid or unenforceable, whether by a court of law, agreement of the parties or otherwise, the remainder of this agreement shall remain in full force and effect notwithstanding any such invalidity, illegality or unenforceability but the provision in question will either be amended so as to make it valid, legal and enforceable or in the event that this is not possible, removed.
